Privacy Consultant

Privacy Compliance Group has a Privacy Consultant position open in Dallas, Texas. If interested, please send resume with writing samples to Marsha at mclayton@privacycg.com.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with clients to map data flows and document current processes, systems and applications that process personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Documenting current privacy and security practices, policies and guidelines.
  • Preparation of GAP analyses, identifying and prioritizing current gaps in processing personally identifiable information.
  • Development of data management programs.
  • Development of strategies for global movement of HR and customer data.
  • Working closely with clients to implement remediation plans.
  • Conduct assessments for compliance with policies, regulations and laws.
  • Working closely with clients to comply with US/EU Safe Harbor, EU Data Protection Directive and laws and regulations around the world.

A successful candidate will have:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in data privacy, project management, security or other equivalent education, work experience in information management, legal, compliance, risk management or a similar field. CIPP not required, but recommended.
  • Working knowledge of state, federal and international privacy laws, rules and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of the legal and technical implications of worldwide data protection regulations.
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to conduct research on privacy, security and technology issues.
  • Ability to analyze and organize information into reports to support privacy assessments and effective management of projects.
  • Ability to multitask, focus, prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
